If you’re looking for gifts with a difference this Christmas Season, the Downtown Holiday Market in DC may be just the place for you to find them. For the 10th year, Diverse Markets Management and the Downtown DC Business Improvement District (BID) are bringing together a wide range of exhibitors and performers in a festive environment to offer you a unique selection of gifts for friends and family.
The Downtown Holiday Market is located in one of the busiest areas of downtown DC centered at 8th and F streets, just opposite to the Verizon Center. The location is great for those traveling from around the Metro region since it’s close to Metro stops and parking garages are also in close vicinity.
In its 10th year, many small business people involved in the production of various crafts will showcase their wares for sale at the Market. If your preference is for uniquely handcrafted ceramics, jewelery or woodwork, or perhaps you are looking for specialty items such as antiques and other collectibles, the Holiday Market will have something to catch your fancy.
Known for its friendly, festive and strong community ambiance, shoppers have the luxury of walking and browsing around the various stalls and interacting with the crafts/business people who have invested their time and care in producing individual products. Live music from a diverse number of performing artists will add to the family environment while food and drinks will also be available for sale as you browse. Shoppers also have the option to purchase gift certificates which are available from a few businesses on the Holiday Market web site.
So if you are keen to support small business and crafts people beyond Small Business Saturday, you can do so for the duration of the holiday season at DC’s Annual Holiday Market. Escape the crowded shopping malls and enjoy the out door atmosphere in the heart of downtown DC.
The Holiday Market opens daily from noon until 8:00 p.m. and runs from November 28 until Christmas Eve, Tuesday December 23.
